Nicole Marin took 3rd in her weight class.

Then, our first home tournaments are fast approaching! There is one THIS Thursday, January 14th against Lake Gibson. It is Varsity only but JV needs to come and watch and learn.

And the Tri-County Invitational is January 22nd & 23rd, also at home. As well as a dual against Wellington, Thursday January 28th.  If you’d like to volunteer for any of these events, please let Elena Singer our Booster Club president know at mssteach@bellsouth.net

With our first home meet coming up, we’re prepping for a lot of different goodies. One of them is a team poster, and we’d like your help.

ATTENTION SENIORS! Attached is a scholarship application from the Palm Beach County Wrestling Hall of Fame. Two seniors can earn $500 in scholarships. Hello Wrestling Families!

It’s been another amazing leg of the journey for our wrestlers! We came in first once again at the Kuntz Tournament, going 7-0. Find the complete results at http://www.heightswrestling.com/index.php/2015/12/20/results-30th-annual-kuntz-duels/
Our next meet is on Wednesday, January 6 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. It’s a meet for both Varsity and JV, so there will be a lot going on. Wrestling starts at 4pm after school. It’s a bit of a drive, but if you can make it, please do!

Hello Wrestling Families!

Congratulations to all of our wrestlers this week! Our JV Team did great on Wednesday and Varsity won First Place this weekend! The results of both of these meets can be found on our newly redesigned website, heightswrestling.com under the RESULTS tab. You’ll also find an archive of all the newsletters as well, so check it out! The results are also attached to this email.
Our next Varsity meet is on December 18th and 19th at Boca High School, NW 16th St, Boca Raton, FL 33486 https://goo.gl/maps/F23n7H12kLT2
Wrestling on Friday will start at 4pm after school and on Saturday at 8am, so please join us if you can — it’s always great to see you all!
The next JV meet isn’t until January 6th, at St. Thomas Aquinas. We’ll send out more information closer to the date.

As a reminder, school on Wednesday and Thursday gets out at 11:21am, but we will still be having practice right after school for two hours. From 11:30am-1:30pm See the attached practice schedule for details.
On another note, if your freshman is considering the JROTC next year, the deadline to sign up is January 29th. They can do so at www.mypbchoiceapp.com.
Lastly, we’d like to thank everyone who came out to Hurricane Grill and Wings this Saturday. You’re what makes the team great!

This has been a week full of action! Thanks to everyone who came out to cheer on our teams, either Wednesday, Friday or Saturday- it was great to see you all!

This week we have a JV meet at Park Vista on Wednesday December 9th, https://goo.gl/maps/cSwgJRhHcvM2 The wrestling starts at 5pm after school.

And on Friday and Saturday, December 11th and 12th, there is a Varsity meet at Santaluces https://goo.gl/maps/ZsYuqQ4RPnE2 Wrestling on Friday starts at 3pm and on Saturday at 10am.

Feel free to join us at either meet, or both! Let’s pack the stands with black and gold!

Also Saturday the 12th all day there is a fundraiser going on for the team at Hurricane Grill and Wings off of 441 and Glades. See the flyer attached for more details. Present the flyer or a picture of it to participate in the fundraiser. 20% of what is made will go to the team!

Hello Wrestling Families!

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving and got some rest. We have our first in season competitions this week, with the first on Wednesday for JV!
The JV team will be wrestling at Seminole Ridge. Wrestling will start at 4:30pm, so please join us in the stands!

Hello Wrestling Families!

Our first tournament is on the horizon. Do not forget that $150 is due for the apparel package and concessions by Monday November 23rd.
November 23rd is also Meet the Lions Night at 6:30pm in the wrestling room. After which there is a fundraiser at the Chipotle off Glades from 5pm-8pm. See the attached flyer for details.
There are also mandatory Weight Certifications this Saturday, 11/21, at 8am. All wrestlers must attend to be on the team.

Hello Wrestling Families!

The season has begun in earnest, so we’d like to say welcome wrestlers, new and old! This season is already shaping up to be amazing, and it’s thanks to all of the time and effort from all of you.

Just a reminder, $150 is due by November 23rd. This goes towards the team apparel package and also the coach concessions for home tournaments.

There is a team fundraiser planned at Chipotle on November 23rd as well. So be sure to head on over to the Chipotle on Glades from 5pm-8pm that Monday, after Meet the Lions night- see the attached flyer for more details.

Dear OH Family,

First of all, congratulations to the Cowboys on a great job at Park Vista where they went 3-0 defeating Park Vista, Palm Beach Gardens and Wellington. The club team won 34 out of 42 matches on the day.
Going undefeated was: Junior Paul Steger, Senior Ethan Altabet, Freshman Ian Pagan, Junior Eric Lentz, Senior Dan Georges, Senior Laurence Kosoy and Senior Benjamin Asadoorian.

Dear OH Family,
This was an exciting weekend that saw Senior Laurence Kosoy visit the prestigious Columbia University in New York.  Pictures of the campus visit can be found on Facebook and Instagram.  Way to go Laurence!!
Olympic Heights Lion Season officially begins November 9th.
Upcoming Events: Our T-shirt fundraiser has officially kicked off so make sure you get your T-shirts and magnets before they run out.  The boys are in groups of 3 and working together to raise see which group can raise the most.
This Saturday we have another preseason event at Park Vista.  This will be a 4-team dual event with PBG, Wellington and Park Vista.  It is free for all spectators so come on out wrestling starts at 10:30

Dear OH Family,
This weekend’s tournament was a huge success. The setup, operation and tear-down of the tournament went very smoothly.A big thank you to all parents who helped work concession and run tables.  If you did not work in concession or run a table we’ll get you in at the next tournament. Just to clarify, this was a preseason event and that was why we wrestled under our club affiliation: Cowboy Wrestling Club.

Thank you to all families who had a sub over at Jersey Mike’s last Thursday, Friday or Saturday.  It was a tremendous fundraiser for the team and a great deal for everyone so thanks again!
Upcoming Events: Our T-shirt fundraiser will officially kick off this week so be on the lookout for your OH Wrestling apparel.  The wrestlers were put into 3 person groups to help promote the apparel.  The top 2 teams that raise the most funds get a special prize.  All of the merchandise was donated by Half Price Countertops, so 100% of the funds raised goes directly to the program.
 We will have our first Parent Night on Monday,October 19th at 6:30pm in room 2117 (Coach Mears’ classroom).
