Lions Newsletter

Dear OH Wrestling Community,
This weekend was very exciting for the team and parents.  First the team had a special seminar in the wrestling room with Blake’s dad, Kip Grout.  The team learned basic sales, marketing, and promotions skills that will transfer in life when job hunting and winning scholarships.  The T-shirt fundraiser will kick off this week so be on the lookout for your fresh Lion Tees.
On Sunday the team participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Mizner Park at 8am.  Twenty-five wrestlers along with four coaches and four OH parents participated in the walk.  The team raised over $700 dollars for the cause. You can still donate over the next few days, so if you’re interesting in contributing to the cause, go to the team page at http://act.alz.org/goto/HeightsWrestling
This Saturday, October 3rd, we have our first competition in our gym.  The team will setup the tournament Friday after school.  The team needs to be at the tournament at 7:15 on Saturday to weigh in. Wrestling starts at 10am. We need parent volunteers to work the concession stand and score tables, so please send us an email if you want to help out!  This is a great chance to meet other team parents and get to know the wrestlers and coaches.  The tournament will be over around 5pm.
Please follow Instagram and Facebook by searching: Olympic Heights Wrestling – as that is our primary communication with the whole team(parents, wrestlers, community, fans, coaches).
Thanks everyone!
